Like Brad Delong's site, but with more liberal use of the F-word and less about the New York Times.

I used to have the category "Idea for a sitcom" or "Music Link" for these things
Just to note that me and the missus watched "The Man In The White Suit" the other night, and it is clearly the movie that "Atlas Shrugged" should have been.
The climax of the film involved the hero, cornered by resentful untermenschen, suffering the humiliation of having his suit fall apart. The Randian remake would have to show him, with a commanding sneer, coolly wiping the dirt from his sleeve and rubbing their grubby noses in it.
Haven't seen it for years, but I remember it being watchable and entertaining. There's probably some points about IP in there too.
ReplyDeleteProbably my favorite science-fiction movie of all time. (It's not disqualified just because it's funny.)
ReplyDeleteWasn't there also a Thursday Music link? "Yma O Hyd" was great.
ReplyDeleteMy overwhelming memory of the film is that young Alec Guinness looked nothing like Ewan McGregor
