'Ello 'ello 'ello?! The Thomas Deacon Academy is recruiting "Midday Supervisors":
"...Midday Supervisors work as part of a team supervising students during the lunch-time period in the Refectory, College areas and Academy open spaces. Each College breaks for lunch at set times across a two-hour period, with all other students continuing with lessons. The Midday Supervisor team manages student movement through the Academy during this lunch-time period to avoid any disturbance to lessons, challenging inappropriate behaviour and referring incidents on to College teams or specialist staff ..."
Sounds like playground attendants (and playtimes) to me ...
That's that really really big school that doesn't have a playground, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want my kids to go there, unless one of the colleges is called 'Slytherin', of course. Then I couldn't resist.
Victory!
ReplyDeleteWhat are the "open spaces" if not playgrounds? Hmm, I see one of the web pages has a wanky drawing of kids sitting on a grassy area reading and stuff (next to a busy road). Is it that these areas are just for quiet sitting: no ball games allowed, etc.? That would fit with the apparent Nulab notion that exercise can only be "excellently" done as organised sport using expensive equipment in dedicated facilities built by PFI.
ReplyDeleteThe "part of a team" thing is puzzling. What are the other parts of the team? Security guards in a CCTV control room perhaps? A PE teacher bellowing out of the window? Or these slightly sinister "specialist staff" (though that might just be said PE teacher)?
It's just astonishing, really.
