Me, in a slightly tasteless joke for the Guardian website

Tangentially to which, I think it's a real shame that Channel 4 didn't bite on my idea for a spin-off programme entitled Faking It Extreme, which would be the same show, but instead of disk jockeys and chefs, the ordinary punters would be invited to take three weeks training and then to try and convince a panel of judges that they were an air traffic controller, brain surgeon, member of the Metropolitan Police's elite C19 firearms unit or some such

Real life. "Armed and Famous", featuring La Toya Jackson, Eric Estrada, Ozzy Osbourne's son, a pro wrestler and some other fucker I haven't heard of, training as police officers and then going on patrol. Yes, they will be carrying guns.

The world is not only stupider than you imagine, it is apparently stupider than you can imagine. What's a man to do? ("write a review of a book by Steven Levitt" is not considered an acceptable answer, btw)

    This has actually been running for years in the States.

    It features a passable-looking guy with some superficial charm, who's been able to convince some people that he's qualified to be President.

    The ratings are dropping as people are slowly realizing that you can't just schmooze your way through a job like that.

    That's an excellent little article Radek - I thought I was the only one who noticed that about half the book has nack-all to do with economics.

    The original comments policy was indeed "come one, come all, come spam", but some insect has been adding comments spam links with javascript in them. Since enetations isn't working for me as an admin link, I can't delete them, so I have destroyed the village in order to save it.
