How the hell did that happen?
I don't know. I ended up doing my Willy Loman bit for the last month, going round the world on a series of shoeshines1 and smiles, attempting to flog my product to people who might or might not choose to buy it. Then I went to Corsica on holiday, doing my bit for a fellow European linguistic minority. And another unannounced month-long hiatus resulted. Apologies to my remaining readers (hullo to both of you).
Anyway, I now have a solution to the problem that's been dogging me of the relationship between D2D and Crooked Timber. Basically, I'm going to post everything that I put on CT on this site, one week later, with a couple of responses to comments. So you'll get everything here, just a little bit later, with a few cheap extra features tagged on in order to justify you wasting yet more of your precious time on what is basically the same mouldy old content. I got the idea from the DVD industry.
I have a new post up there now, so you might want to give it a look. Or check back here in a week's time.
1Anyone who has even a passing acquaintance with me or my shoes will be aware that "shoeshine" in this sentence is being used in a purely metaphorical sense.
