Not dissimilar, but as I understand it Frippertronics is basically improvised music while the Reich counterpoint pieces (New York, Electric, Vermont and Cello) are composed and could in principle be played by an ensemble rather than by one player and 7 recordings.
If you don't like this, then here's a racy bird playing 'Kashmir' with a cello and tape loop pedal (Cello Counterpoint was composed for Maya Beiser and it's a real shame that the video installation of her playing it at the Barbican last year isn't on YouTube.
You'll have to start North London's Least Inviting Nightspot. It's the only way to canalise this disturbing impulse into something relatively harmless.
